Willem de Kooning
This colorful apartment, overlooking the inner garden and is named after the Dutch abstract expressionist painter Willem de Kooning. The unit is located on the third floor of the building, it is up three flights of stairs and there is no elevator in the building.
The Willem de Kooning apartment is a modern one bedroom apartment for one or two guests. The apartment is very centrally located, in the Dutch Masters Amsterdam building, on the beautiful Keizersgracht, close to the Art District in the heart of the historic center of Amsterdam.
In the interior of the apartment, the abstract expressionism that the painter Willem de Kooning stood for is clearly visible through the use of color and large contrasts.
The living room has a sofa and a flat screen television with cable TV and Netflix and there is also a Bluetooth speaker. There is a dining table with chairs where our guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner.
The open kitchen is fully equipped with a hob, combo-microwave-oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and a Nespresso coffee machine.
Next to the living room is the bedroom with queen-size bed and delightful allergen-free bed linen and pillows of excellent quality. The en-suite bathroom has a bath with a shower, a hairdryer and travel size bath items are available.
The whole apartment has heating for the winter and air conditioning for the warm months. A washing machine and dryer are also available in the apartment. Free WiFi is also available throughout the apartment.

More information on Master Willem de Kooning
(1904 – 1997)
In the 1930’s, de Kooning developed his famous abstract style: heightened colours and geometric abstractions. In 1980 he was diagnosed with Alzheimers disease and his popularity soared. At auction in 1989, one of his paintings, Interchange (1955), was sold for USD 20.6 million. De Kooning was awarded with the National Medal of Arts in 1985, the highest honour given to artists in the United States.
